Hi Ruth, that's what I call a catch up

Bliss - my least favourtie of the shots, but it does fit the theme

Fragile, scenic and companions - excellent shots there

Elegant - lovely take on the theme. That yellow really pops and I really like the composition

Thanks Lorraine.
I agree about bliss :-)

Fragile....very nice....fits the theme to a tee ,like the inclusion of the long shadow (y)

Thanks david :-)

Well, to begin...be prepared to get wet
I taped a long length of bright wrapping paper to the conservatory door.
Then I got someone to hold the hose steady about 5 ft infront of the paper.
Took the camera (50mm 1.8) a few inches in front of the water stream and keep trying. :-)
I did a couple other things too, (both involving coloured oil in water), but decided on this one in the end.
Thanks again for your comment.

Watery, excellent image, love the colours and execution.

Phil

Simon, thank you very much indeed!
And you're right. My linky doesn't work. :(
I don't think I'll ever get that right!!

Thanks for the explanation - well done on an innovative effort. The colours are really vibrant and that's what makes the shot stand out. The contrast between in-focus and out-of-focus also adds a subject and the bloblet on the left is the humourous finishing touch.

Love it.

No problem, and thank you very much.
Young Bloblet appreciates you commenting!

Thanks david :)

Hi Ruth

Elegant - love the simpleness of just the yellow and black, this would look good printed big

Watery - great colours and idea, that bloblet face makes me smile!
:)

Damn Ruth, what a stunning start !!!

Elegant - Great colours, really like the close in detail, the backlighting is very effective indeed

Bliss - Awweeee looks like he needs his tummy rubbed (think he needs to trim his nails first) - great timing/capture :)

Fragile - Suits the theme nicely, liking your composition and elongated shadow, the red pops nicely too !!!

Scenic - Again really liking your composition, the sun burning through the mist and the fence posts all add to a nice lone tree image

Companions - Ha Haaaaa bet they wouldn't have guessed they would end up there :D

Finally... Watery, love this one, super colours again, super background, a great effect and line of drops, no crit from me

One to watch this thread

Wow. ..thank you for taking the time for that...I really do appreciate it!

Watery, I thought you'd just dripped water onto some glass. After reading your narrative I have no crit.

Great colours, good overall detail and nice arch in the water.

Cheers.

I wish I HAD dripped water onto glass. It might have been easier!!

When you click on the number of the post, in this case #71 copy the text in the top box not the one at the bottom. That should work.

Watery - that is some pic :clap::clap: and kudos for being out there in the cold playing with water :coldfeet:

Nailed it this week Ruth. Good imagination and very well executed.

Many thanks David :-)

Aha!!! Thanks Jill!
I definitely copied the bottom one I think?

Hiya Ruth, wow - some amazing shots here :)

Elegant - lovely backlighting here and a nice semi-abstract image. Very elegant!

Bliss - a nice grab shot but not my favourite of the set.

Fragile - that really is a beauty. Fab shadow, nice light and overall great composition... makes for a superb image.

Scenic - beautiful as well. I don't mind the sun in shot here as for me, it balances the lone tree. Wonderful light you've captured - a lovely shot.

Companions - funny yet slightly disturbing at the same time! Well captured detail, simply lit (presume plain window light) but it works. Would also prefer to see at least a bit of the bottom shelf in frame, but minor point.

Watery - a great fun shot. Those are some funky curtains you have ;) Could perhaps benefit from a touch more DOF but I'd understand if you were light-limited on that. Nice take.

Really really good start - so looking forward to more of your images in weeks to come!

Watery - what a fabulous shot. Really bright colours and pin sharp. Thanks for your description of how you did it. I too thought it was just droplets on a piece of glass.
