Yes
I've put Vista on my Laptop.
I'm considering at a later date a Mac book (once I've decided its the way forward!)

I then want to put my Laptop back to XP and get rid, I then want to use Vista on my home machine.

I have heard some comments that this will be a problem??
Anyone any experience of this??

Probably best to buy another copy of Vista.

Certainly if you have registered Vista for your laptop you won't be able to register the same copy on the pc.

Depends on the license. If it's an OEM copy, you can only use it on your laptop legitimately, you wont be able to transfer it to your home machine.

If it's a non OEM license, within the terms of the license you can transfer it to another machine, aslong as you wipe it from your laptop first. If the install/activation causes problems, just ring Microsoft, and they have an automated online system, or call operators who will sort you out within minutes.

I have a work mate who actually bought a genuine copy of Vista at full price then decided he would install it on both his desktop and Laptop..:cuckoo:

The desktop worked fine and activated fine... The laptop was declared a pirate version and wouldnt activate..:geek:

I thought everyone had a bit of common sense..

ITs a gen copy, retail boxed... so I should be able to transfer... no plans to do so just yet.. depends if I get a mac or not really...
cheers for the replies :)
