Hi all

I'm heading into London next weekend, and I'm hoping to get some good shots while I'm there. I know its Chinese New Year celebrations this day, so I'll be spending a good bit of time around Chinatown no doubt. Any other suggestions? I've heard that Baker Street is worth a visit, as well as the Emirates Air Line, if its a decent day.

Mostly looking at street stuff. I think I'd like to do the Air Line over the Thames for a few aerial shots, but that would be all. Well, that, or the Shard viewing deck.

There is a Chinese New Year meet set up on here if you fancy joining.

Covent Garden is great for street.

Thanks for the ideas. I would join the meet Scott, but the day isn't just for photography so I'll likely be wandering around a lot of different areas

Should give Covent Garden and Leadenhall Market a visit. South Bank is always good at a weekend.

Borough Market (London Bridge) and Tower Bridge isn't far.

I'll be sure to head down Brick Lane, and Covent Garden is very near to Chinatown so thats a definite, thanks!

With regards kit, I'm tempted to just go with my 17-55 and 50mm, and leave the 70-200 at home. Good idea?

Hi Mark,
Are you going on your own? If so it might be worth leaving the 70-200 at home. It could attract you some unwanted attention. That said, if there's a couple of you then take it, it's too good to be left indoors! Also if you've got company they can help carry it for a bit when it gets too heavy (which it will :))
