Well I have the day off on wednesday and am going cadwest for my first visit.....thing is, do you think that the RAF will stop flying to watch the Footy at 3pm.
 
Get up there and enjoy the views. but take plenty of water as well in this heat.
 
Cheers for the info, I cant wait for wednesday and have been reading all about the essentials, just hope that England Game wont stop the flying.

I doubt it very much. They have work to do. Take plenty of water as already said. Take clothing in case the weather turns and food. Amazing how hungry you get when bored...

I was there for 3 days last week. The light is hard work until early afternoon. but it didn't stop me getting up there by 7.00am. :D
We had about 40 bodies up there on the Wednesday. I would go every day if I could.
Have a great time. I'm jealous. ;)

I've got a sneaky feeling they'll being doing job and finish and settling in front of the telly at 3ish...
 
Thanks kev..I am taking my pop up bivvy and hopefully will be up there for about 8am.

phillip..I hope not but I suppose by 3pm I may be thinking of making the trek back home.
 
Went up to Cadwest today and drew a complete blank, no jets at all...possibly something to do with a helicopter moving rocks in the valley...undeterred I will be back next month for another go.
 
You were just very unlucky Paul, one of those things,... the helicopter hauling gear on to Cad East stooped all the flying!!!!

If you're who I think you are, I was the one who changed the settings on the D300 for you.(I gave up at 2pm)

Hey thanks martin, yes that was me, I rang RAF valley at about 3.15pm and the bloke in the ops room said "Oh yes we have an avoid all day on cadwest due to helicopter operations" but hey it beat work and it was good to meet you and the other stalwarts on the hill and thankyou for the advice on predictive focusing, hopefully i will get a chance to use it next time.

@Ziploc...sounds interesting I shall google for operations between the 5th and 16th...I am hopeing to be back before then too!
