Any of you fine folk have Virgin Media? Were with Sky and BT at the moment but are looking to move our broadband, tv and phone to all the same provider, mainly as it's cheaper.

We spend £39 on Sky per month and £46 on BT (phone and net) so was looking at moving to Virgin, anyone any thoughts on this or ideas of better packages from other providers?

I've got Virgin arriving on the 30th June as I'm sick of Sky and their boxes/LNB's. Moving from BT phone and 2mb broadband to the following:

20mb broadband
XL tv (full virgin TV but no sky sports or movies)
V+ HD box to replace the SKY+ plus normal set top box for upstairs
Unlimited phone calls to UK numbers and line rental.

All for £33.50 (Half Price) as my mate works for Virgin :thumbs:

We're with Virgin on their Platinum package, I think it's called, which Is TV and V+ Box. most of the channels including sports, telephone, and 20mb broadband. I think we pay about £89 per month.

I can't recommend it enough. When we got the v+ box they installed the old set top box in another room at no charge whatsoever.

50mb broadband is available now too if you fancy that for £50 a month, although it's not available in all areas yet. You can check availability for your postcode on the Virgin web site.
 
I'm going the other way after something like 12 years ...
Tbh I never had any real problems with their service but the last 6 months or so their billing dept. was doing my head in.
Moved BB to O2 who have been very good & I'm about to buy Sky TV (someone who works for Sky is getting me a good deal - free install, free Sky+ box & Skyworld for a year at £23pm).
 
got 2mb b/band and unlimted phone anytime for £24.99

quite happy with that , Virgin will usually do a deal on most packages , just remind them what other offers the competition may be offering
 
I had their broadband medium package (10MB) line I think, but i've sinced moved to an uncabled area so thought i'd try their national service down the phoneline & i've not got any complaints, getting roughly the same download speeds.
Not got any complaints with them at all, and you get V festival tickets a day earlier...which is good!!
 
Thanks for the help everyone! Forgot to mention im in a area that can only pick up 10mb, but thats more than enough really for me.

That V+ box is the best thing since sliced bread!
 
Have you seen that you can now back up docs and pics etc to Virgin free of charge? I should really take advantage of this.

I tried backing up 53 photos the other day.................... jeesh it takes ages. And once done I cannot see all the files , (It may take sometime processing your files) is the reply box where my files are.

Still, it may only be teething probs.

I have had VIP package since it came out and on the whole it is very good.

how much is that little lot ?
 
We have the VIP package + it costs 96quid a month but its worth it all main sky channels all virgin and no silly pay per view unless its sky all sports are included and 40mb UNLIMITED broadband plus our international phone calls that work out at about 6p for 2 hrs to florida.....Virgin media is a bargain, oh and I have 3 mobile contracts 2 at the £10 package and neither bill has gone over £9 and my personal £18 contract which I have had for 4 month and only had to pay one bill of £18 because I didnt use all my mins and texts my account currently is £36 in credit.......so yep a bargain
