I’m looking for the best deal on TV, internet and Phone.
As I see it I have 4 options.

1. Sky TV, phone and Broadband (with a sky+ box as I work shifts and always miss decent programs & sport)
2. Virgin TV, phone and Broadband
3. BT Vision, phone and Broadband
4. Freeview PVR (so I can still record stuff, etc) Plus a separate phone and broadband provider?

What would you recommend?...

Sky all the way for me, but I wouldn't bother with HD, as it's not worth the extra tenner a month which I'm paying.

With Sky now but if Virgin get around to putting fibre around where I live i'd leave Sky to go with them Virgin do a recording box also (Record 2 channels while watching one) don't think my sister pays extra for HD either!

net is to slow around me, Sky have been the best provider i've had so far in local area.

I'm with Virgin for TV (HD) + phone + broadband. Excellent speed & reasonable costs

The V+ TV box is the only 'Gadget' that I've ever had that MrsGubby insists I keep, the ability to record two programs whilst watching / pausing a third is superb :)

Sky HD all the way from me

Have TV, Phone and Internet and all have been great (you can get a free phone service and internet package but they are basic) we got the free evening and weekend calls which suited us but when we got everything at once they discounted the BB from £10 to £5 per month as a new customer (for 20 MB)

Something to ask if you go down that route

Hope this helps alittle

Virgin all the way. Not cheap but it works, it's fast and the customer support is pretty good in my experience. Can't say I've heard the same about sky.

We have freeview box with the built in hard disk recorder. Talktalk for phone and broadband. Total a month=£19 including line rental. We get 3.5mb download speed. Not bothered with HD TV to be honest. Guess you can get better but you pay more for it. I don't like wasting money so £19 a month for digital TV, phone line rental, phone calls after 6 and broadband suits me.

I am with Virgin for everything, TV V+ with added sky sports and movies, telephone for her indoors to phone florida free and my 20mb broadband.......oh and 3 mobile contracts.
As Craig says the customer service is second to none if you need them and free the only thing is they are a bit pricey for part packages, I would say if you are only after TV with some movies and sport but no premium channels then go with sky but if you are after a decent package with premium chanels and broadband thats fast then go with virgin and forget the rest

I know BT's broadband is total rubbish, don't know what Sky's is like, and Virgin broadband totally rocks for consistency and speed... I think I'd rather commit Hari Kari than ever let my broadband come though a socket with BT stamped on it....

Never had an issue from Sky broadband, I feel the same about BT though. I live just out the town (very close to sticks) with BT i struggled to get a 2-2.5Mbs net from them.

switched to Sky same line never goes below 5Mbs even at peak times. why the heck BT throttle net connection I will never understand!

Virgin speed test was about the same when making switch to Sky. As previously stated, if they roll out fibre around here i'd be signed up ASAP! :D

Was with Virgin and left because of the appalling customer service never got a straight answer out of BT as to exactly how there system worked but have been with Sky (Non HD) for 4 years without a days trouble

Hmm, seems like Sky and Virgin are both pretty reasonable then. I think I'll probably get the full package from one of them, but it's worth investigating the Freesat option as there's an existing sky dish on the house.

we used to be with BT phone and Broadband and never had a problem. the connection was fast and reliable. can't say much for the customer service as i never really had to use it.

I'm with virgin at the mo and have nothing but praise for them. The service they deliver more than meets my expectations.
I get 10mb broadband, Large TV with V+ and a free netbook with a 1Gb dongle all for around £50 a month.
I initial strayed into virgin territory for their consistent broadband speeds (fibre optic here) but soon found out the other stuff they offer.
IMO opinion, where fibre optic cable is available I woulds choose Virgin first, then Sky, then freesat. As for BT, they can bolt!

Sky HD user here, with their broadband also. but a BT land line

Cant fault any of the services we have.

I can't get Virgin round my way - though I would give it serious consideration if I could, because their broadband service is fantastic. I use 'regular' Sky, but I'm about to buy an HD TV and upgrade our package to the HD service. I get excellent broadband speeds from them at the moment. It's pricey, but I wouldn't be without the Sports / Movies - going back to Freeview or normal TV would feel weird!

the previous tennants had sky plus, and it looks like the one's before that must have had cable (probably ntl as virgin wern't around then), but both are wired in, so hopefully i'll be free to choose either. still not sure on virgin or sky though.

I'm with Virgin and although they're not as advanced with things as Sky, I think what they bring out is always an improvement eg V+ record the extra channel, you pay for installation, but the channels are included in your package.

My cousin has BB with Sky and was always having trouble with it...mostly usage problems (the fact that they allow you very little)

sky all the way

get rec a friend so i can get ipod touch

sky plus is so easy and good

link to iphone/touch other mobile for remote record
xbox link?

GO SKY MATE

Always had Virgin/NTL for phone & broadband for the last 10 years without any problems. Swapped TV over to Virgin V+ a couple of months back from SKY HD. SD picture IMHO is much better via Virgin than SKY and HD, well is HD, so not much in it. The new Samsung box is also very very quiet and runs cool too.

Take a look at Cable Forum It used to be NTHellworld  But it gives you a lot of info (good and bad).
