Yes
Just toying with the idea of scrapping the muslin and getting a vinyl background like one i seen on warehouse express for £180 ish.

What other options have I got?

Reasons for change:

To have smooth surface floor.

Finding that I have to OE the muslin too much to take wrinkles out, would be nice to use less power.

At the minute can only use the muslin as high key, so with vinyl I can shoot without being high key if needed.

That's my thoughts anyways....

I bought a vinyl background from http://www.studiodecor.co.uk in 2002 and it is still going strong.

It is thicker (and heavier) than some of the ones I have seen more recently but it has been great value. I think I paid around £230 inc.

It really needs to be on a hard floor and because of the weight it is on a rack bolted to the wall.

Looks like they haven't updated their site since 2002 either. ;)

vinyl is fairly shiny, if you want to use white as grey/black too I've found paper to give smoother graduations (but I like paper a lot so do go on :D)

vinyl is kick ass durable for events though

Is there any difference in surface finish on the PVC rather than Vinyl?
