I'm looking at changing my white and grey cloth backgrounds for vinyl, but can only stretch to getting one at the moment. Am I correct in thinking that getting the grey would be the best option ?

Hi David
Personally I would go with white as it gives you more options. Depending on the way you light the background, you could get white, grey or black. With the grey background you will probably be limited to grey or black. Anyway that's my opinion. I know many photographers that have grey backgrounds. Hope that helps.

I would stick to white, if space permits it's more versatile IMO.
 
I am going to buy vinyl background too, but I was thinking about 2in1 (white/black). I am looking where is the best deal at the moment
 
Just my way of thinking but I would go for gray, one stop over lit = white no light = black and it will take gels better than white
 
Thanks I am leaning more towards the grey. I will get a white in the near future but I think the grey will be the one I get first. I'll be keeping the black backdrop cloth.
