Hi all
I'm a mobile portrait photographer and currently using a pop up backdrop with train which is working ok for me. I have 3x lastolite 200w lights - 2 with soft boxes for lighting subjects, 1 with brolly for lightening backdrop.
I'm looking in to buying a roll of vinyl for various reasons - sometimes I have larger groups and my backdrop is simply not wide enough, so I spend a fair bit of time cloning extra backdrop in photoshop, plus I'm getting more enquiries for photo booth style shoots and want to save my pop up from getting completely filthy!
Ideally I'd love to get a Hilite with train, but don't think that's exactly what I'm after in terms of width, and its bloody pricey!
Any suggestions please,lovely poeople?
Thanks - Bex :)

Vinyl isn't the most mobile product owing to the combination of length and weight, but several have been successful with it. The HiLite overcomes these problems.... but is much more expensive than a straight roll.

As long as your vehicle is geared up to transport the roll ok (having once had a customer who insisted she needed a 3m wide white vinyl only to return itbecause it wouldn't fit into her vehicle.... an MGB....) you should be fine, however you may find good results harder to achieve with your current lighting line up

Also, dont forget to factor in the additional space necessary for heavy duty support for a rolled product: A 3m wide background needs nearly 4m of available width, and on this score the HiLite scores extremely well, being self supporting and needing no additional support

Custom widths and lengths of white vinyl are available from Lux S HERE

Thank you - I'm still wavering as to whether I should try and get a hilite and just carry on dealing with the width issue... I have had groups of 8 teenage girls in the past for party shoots...!
The only other thing then is that I will probs need a 4th light... Decisions, decisions!! :(

I do have a roof rack on my Astra - good thinking! So do you have a length of pipe permanently fixed on the rack? How does that work? :)

I have a van for the Photographic business. The van has 2 drain pipes on the roof. Attachments from Jewsons. Works a treat.

Have you got the details for the attachments Daryl ?
