Im looking to get a vinyl back drop ideally 2m x 3m (on a 2 by 2 stand), but tranporting this is completely impractical right now.

Does anybody have any idea how well 2 shorter widths (0.9x3m ish) together might perform??

Second to that does anybody know if a 2 mtre long roll will fit in a Ford Focus! (Arrives in April!) lol

Really badly.

Don't know - but you can trim them.

I bought a 2.8 which was a bit too long for my Skoda. Leave it on the roll and use a hacksaw to cut right through the roll. Stop when you hit the pole and cut the separately so it's still a few inches longer.

If you want 3m wide backdrop ...buy a roof rack ....... buy a length of PVC drainpipe (check diameter) - two end caps and fix the drainpipe to the roof rack like plumbers do to carry their copper. Put the backdrop inside said drainpipe and drive away....simples, safe and cheap!

Here is one such example.......

I can get a 3m one in my car comfortably:)

More seriously, if you are shooting in a large studio space with a long lens then you can often get away with a narrow background, but if you have to shoot with a wider lens, perspective distortion will require a wider background.
