Vintage editing

Just working on a vintage style preset for LR3 which I've applied to the following images...

Part of me really likes the look but I can't help feeling something isn't quite right but can't seem to put my finger on it!!

Any advice/help would be very much appreciated, seems to be a fine line between vintage and just ill looking!!

I think you need to desaturate a tad more

Older images often fade towards magenta too.

I think it works well for the 2nd shot, but I can't see much of an effect in the others. I'm also trying to get a decent preset saved.. I have this one done.
