Hi All,

Bit of a odd question... I am looking for a vintage camera... Any reccomendations? Not looking to spend too much.

Thanks

Joe

What sort of thing? Plate? and what sort of vintage?

Sam

If film then the zorki type of thing can be fun and a good one got for £50.

Voigtlander Vito series B & C are uncoupled rangefinders, BL, CL, CLR etc are coupled rangefinders. All cracking small cameras, build like a brick outhouse and take great images.

I'd second that. I've still got a lovely little Voightlander. I have to admit I haven't used it in a good many years. But certainly have had some lovely images from it.

WHat do we think of the Pentax k1000?

k1000 is a pretty good camera, but tend to be overpriced at the moment. It's also a SLR and not a rangefinder, though manual slr bodies tend to be pretty small. If you're thinking of a pentax SLR, then a more modern (but still manual) body such as a ME/ME Super/ Super A will do nicely. Alternatively, you could pick up an old spotmatic for not much at all. I've a SP500 that I got with 55mm lens for £20 and it's lovely!

There was somebody on here recently with a whole stach of vintage Pentax gear up for grabs. I think he was in my area somewhere? Have a look through the classified section on here, or search for something like Pentax Haul
