Occasionally they drop the prices of their leather faced exective chairs to a rather bargainlicious price.

Well a couple of months ago, my old chair (bought from Staples last year), decided to crack at the base, in the middle of me watching a rather good film.

So I jumped on the net and ordered one from Viking Direct at 11:00am, for the really low special offer discounted price of 26 quid. Including delivery. (A couple of days away, or so I thought)

At 13:50, there was a knock on the door. Courier. With my new chair.
My response was (word for word) "**** me that was quick".

Anyway, that was beginning of May.
Today, I noticed the arm on my chair had broken, and split at one of the joins (no sarcy comments about my weight please :p)

Anyway, I emailed Viking Direct and explained that I thought it would have lasted a bit longer than 9 weeks of use, and asking if they have some sort of guarantee / returns policy on the chairs? (It always pays to be polite and ask, never demand).

Anyway, he emailed me back, a courier will be here in the morning with a brand new replacement, and to pick my old chair up..all free of charge.

So not only were they bargainlicous with super quick delivery from the off, they have great customer service to boot :)

I feel too many people are always quick to complain, but never quick enough to praise, so I feel they deserved a big :clap: from me and a :thumbs: for their attitude :)

We used to use them for some office stuff. You have to be careful with their pricing as they have a strange policy (or they did anyway). New customers and those buying online get the best prices. Once you have been with them a while and they send you regular brochures - you start getting a different edition with higher prices in it! Phone for a price and you get the best offer... go by the book and pay more.
 
Fair play, great service - but I'm not a fan of cheap chairs. The padding & finish is often less than great. Sure, they're ace for a few months ~ year - but I'd rather pay more and get something which lasts many, many years :D
 
That's my only gripe with these chairs...the padding.....

Under my ickle wickle frame ;) the padding doesnt last long before it feels like I'm sat on a bench :p
 
I bought one of these chairs about 18months ago, still going (and i'm not that small) superb quality, always found them very quick with delivery.

Not sure on the prices problem as i always order from their website

Same story here, eventually I found it cheaper to buy stationary from Tescos.

Oddly enough I also bought one of their el cheapo leather chairs and it lasted for years (no mean feat when you consider I'm a bfb!) though I had to pretty much rebuild it from the bottom up over that time.
 
But I'm really fed up with the photos of "I Helford - Chairman Emeritus" plastered all over their brochures. :cuckoo: Why not someone more attractive? If they sent plain paper instead of all the catalogues it would save me a fortune in stationery. :lol:

And to top all this off Viking have gone one better.

At 08:40 this morning the chair arrived :)
So I emailed them saying "Thanks for some top notch service"

Then just before lunch I got a phone call from a woman saying thanks for the thanks, so to speak. They keep a sort of database of all positive comments, and to thank me, there's now a £5.00 gift voucher on my account, ready for my next order.

Top notch service indeed! :)
