viewing photos on camera with an ipad

Hi amp34s thread has made me think about trying this but I don't want to hijack the thread
Anyway if I bought a apple camera connection kit would I be able to veiw the photos on my 7D and easily delete any out of focus one's without loading them onto the ipad?
I could just buy the lead and try but its £25 so just want to check first
If I could connect up the ipad to my camera while im out and preview the shots that would be handy

i dont think you can view photos still on the camera, you have to download them to the ipad.

Not sure about your set up but for my 70d there is an EOS camera app on android for viewing via wifi. Is there an apple app version?

I had a connection kit in the past when I had an ipad and 450d. I read the files from the card reader but it only read jpeg IIRC, it may have change now

it looks like I,m out of luck
would of been handy to connect the ipad to the camera to go through the shots (on the card in the camera)
I did have a look at apps but there's nothing that would do that
I can download the shots onto the ipad then go through them but don't want to do that

CamRanger is a wireless device which allows you to transfer files from your camera to an iPad. I've had one for about a year and its a great device to shoot tethered but without the cable (Can you shoot tethered, without a cable ??)

However it is a few hundred pounds so if you don't have the need for it it can be expensive.

The new Canon 6D has built in WiFi which lets you do what you want.

I can't think of an inexpensive option.

thanks John it looks like the best option would be using the laptop which is what I'm doing at the moment
what I was trying to do is when I'm looking at the shots I've taken on the back of the camera connect up the ipad to view them without downloading them onto the ipad

On Android you can use DSLR Controller to do just that (as well as liveview on a larger screen, adjust zoom and settings and actuate the shutter). This costs about £4 and requires a USB OTG cable (£2.50) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.dslrcontroller

There is an iOS version, but this allows monitoring without remote control: http://dslrcontroller.com/iOS/

The Android version also lets you add a WIFI module to your camera for true remote control using a £25 dongle off eBay.

Thanks st999 does look really handy but unfortunately requires a jailbroken ipad
I dont want to do that
They seem to hint that if there's enough interest they will bring out a version that will work on a normal ipad

Not sure if it helps but I often use eyefi card to send raws (tif in apples case) to my tab or even phone. It is downloading them.

Ive also used helicam app that live veiws camera to android.
