I have transferred all my home video to DVD a few yrs ago, or at least I thought I had but have now come across some lost Video footage and wish to transfer this to DVD,.
As I have sold my old Video to DVD recorder ( which had done a great job) I am looking to purchase something to record the newly found video footage onto blu-ray or DVD.

Options;
1, To purchase another second hand recorder, V-DVD.
or
2, To use some digital convertor equipment via the PC.
Would be grateful for any ideas or recommendations.

Thanks

What media is the video footage on?

If you have a vhs player you can get the easy cap Usb device to capture from vhs to pc and burn to dvd on your pc using nero or cdburnerxp.

The devices are cheap but I don't know what the output quality will be like.

Thanks for the replies, i feel VHS - PC would be a good move, unless anyone else has some other ideas. I was looking at Maplins, they seem to have a decent unit.
The only concern is about qaulity, i know i won't gain much if anything, but will i lose any?..

just searched TP for this subject hence the thread ressurection.. I ahve some VHS tapes I want on my coputer.. a couple are small tiny tapes from the video camera..

OK so i need a video player first.. but what about the tiny tapes?

would a 4 Channel Digital Video Recorder 250GB-IDE DVR work.. sounds to me like you could record to the HD?

Are the tiny tapes vhs c, if they are and you have a vhs player you will need one of those vhsc to vhs tape adaptors.

If the small tapes are mini-dv and, you don't have a camera, I can transfer to pc files for you, no charge.

You'd need to courier them over to me though.

Drop me a message if you're stuck.
