Hi All,

possibly thinking about getting a video light to add to the kit bag, was on a training course yesterday where they used them and can see the advantages in some settings. I don't really know anything about this so am looking for advice from people who already have some/ or have used them and recommendation of brands and suppliers would be goo too.

Cheers

I really like the lowel ID light with barndoors fitted. It's a tungsten light and does get hot though. Theres a couple of versions available, you want the 12 volt one with a dimmer if you want to be portable.

We hired in some litepanels (http://www.litepanels.com/) for a shoot in a small room, where space and heat were important. They worked really well. I think there are cheaper equivalents around but I liked the way these connected together to make bigger panels if required.

PAG lights are a cheap and fairly neat system that have been a key item used in broadcast for years - they're neat, well built and cheapish, though the connector from the battery pack to the light cable is a bit fiddly imo.

On ebay, the Z96 mini LED panel is meant to be very good, I've played with one and almost bought one the same day...still very tempted.
