Hope this is in the right place for starters.

I've been contacted by my brother in law who's uncle has a load of photographs from his daughters wedding, he wants the photos put onto a CD/DVD with a voiceover of him speaking on it. Its basically photos of her from childhood to adulthood and somewhere in between type of thing.

Now I 'can be' handy with Photoshop basics and IT basics but have never done this type of thing before but said I'd do it

Has anyone done this type of thing before?

Any advice on what type of program to use would be really helpful at short notice as its to be done on Thursday night

I use Cyberlink Power Director for this type of thing. It's not too expensive and is quite easy to use, and comes with lots of free templates etc.

Great Alan, I'll get that downloaded tonight to see how it goes. In work at the minute and the web on my phone is a bit restrictive!

Windows moviemaker is standard on nearly every PC and can do all your tricks

yep...

I just used windows media maker, and audacity to do the voice recording. You can do it with any old computer mic, or you can go all fancy and use a POD and SM58 etc etc (being a muso I did the latter). Then just layer the sound track over
