Hi, I'm new here.

I’m looking to replace a dedicated Sony video camera which is used to project craft demonstrations directly to a projector. Although our current camera can record to tape we don’t use this facility - just live projection.
While the camera works OK, we find that the zoom controls are fiddly, especially compared to using a zoom ring on a DLSR or similar. Therefore, I expect that a replacement will be a regular camera, with video capability.
Our projector is fairly old, also works OK, but is limited to composite Video In.
Can anyone recommend a replacement camera for us? Budget is not too important, by since we use the equipment only infrequntly, I do not want to spend excessively.
As a minimum, we would be looking for:
  • Reasonable zoom capability
  • Live output to our projector, I would assume we would need an adapter to provide the Video In signal we need. Is this even possible?. WiFi is not available.
  • Ability to keep the camera plugged in - we don’t want to risk a dead battery during a demonstration.
Thanks

Thanks Nod.
Can you confirm that these cameras are able to output video as it is being shot, and that they can be connected to an AC power adapter while the camera is in use?

I was fairly sure that they could be connected to the TV while shooting but the manual I've found online says not. I can't find my HDMI cable to test it either. They can be used while charging.
