I'm not heavily into videos, but every now and again I'll do a video clip of something or other that I like.
Trimming them to size is fine (just using window 10 video), but things like cropping, or boosting colours/contrast I can't do.
Given that I don't need an all singing & dancing solution yet, does anyone have any pointers towards a free tool which will help me in these 2 aspects.

This is an example of one I took yesterday where I'd like more colour and contrast.

see my edit below Done with Adobe Elements Premier 14. Just a quick go at it.if you bought this you could get it a lot better. What i like about this is all you have to do is work on one frame and the whole video changes to that setting. Tou can add music and voice over as well

I know your looking for a free editing suite. Adobe do a free trial download of this.

I bought a copy and still getting the hang of editing with it ,there are so many adjustments on sliders you can spend hours if you want playing with this video editing suite

King's Speech, Wolf of Wall Street, Moulin Rouge...

All edited on Lightworks which has a free edition. Only limitation is output frame size.

With the latest versions of Lightworks, the free version has lost the ability to export to a file, export to Youtube and Vimeo are the only options (although if you can time it right, you can grab the mp4 file while it's uploading to Vimeo). Which rather limits it's usefulness.

you can also capture video from youtube with VLC player, but it seems like a lot of tinkering to save to a file.

The Youtube export is limited to 720P. The Vimeo export will do 1080P. Vimeo will let you download your own uploads anyway, but on the free accounts not the original only a version that's been re-encoded.
