Can any one suggest a free video converter for my 5dII files to be played through a TV connected dvd player.

I have tried a few but I appear to have cocked it oops and some of them are trial only and have a watermark over the finished file.

can I also ask for a 'how to' as one I tried didn't copy the soundtrack ( or it was user error again!)

many thanks.

i use wondershare
its not free but its quite good

I am not using my licenses at the mo. I do not have it installed anywhere at the mo either, so if you wnat to borrow it for a month you can, its a download and i'll pass you my key,but it will need to be uninstalled within a month just PM me.
Mods if i am breaking a rule sorry just let me know.

That's a kind offer, thanks - but I don't want to break any rules, lets see if I get any more ideas first.

mpegstreamclip will probably do it, it does everything else.

What settings it needs will depend on your DVD player, I have no idea there

How are you creating the DVD? your DVD player is unlikely to play MOV files copied straight from the camera. You need to use some form of editing program. Have you tried Windows Movie Maker (freeby) I've never used it to create a DVD personally but may be worth a shot. I use Serif's MoviePlus X5 which I find a great program ( they also have an excellent user forum) as it is an older version you can probably find a cheap copy somewhere. Also they have a trial version though not sure if you can burn DVD's with it, but may be worth the download time. http://www.serif.com/free-video-editing-software/

That is why I am asking for a video converter.

Windows movie maker didn't convert .mov files when I tried it.

Serifs movie plus is good but to create a DVD I need to pay, maybe I will have top go down the paid route after all.

Once you have made your movie in Windows movie maker, you should can burn it to dvd, that is the easiest free option.

I believe ImgBurn will do the task for you and it's a freebie. However, the output quality is not always great.

Personally, I use DVD Creator to handle my burning job, and it works perfect on my computer.

Hard to say which program is the best, all depends on your specific need.

Download EyeFrame converter and ImgBurn.

Drag 5D files onto Eyeframe converter.

Click convert and choose PAL 16x9 DVD

Use ImgBurn to burn the .iso file created to DVD.
