Anyone else watching the Albert Hall show?

Just a timely reminder of what talented person she was and such a loss to the world of entertainment :(

Totally agree. Dinner Ladies is perhaps the finest sit com ever written. Her acting in the War drama as a Lady writer shows what a fully rounded entertainer she was.
Sad loss.

Saw her live a few years ago she was brilliant

I saw her live 20 years ago and came away very underwhelmed , don't know if she was just having a bad night but I didn't find her that funny live.

I do think she was a good actress and would like to have seen her play more serious roles

Completely OT but I saw Lenny Henry do comedy twice, the first time I still ached all the next day, the 2nd, I barely cracked a smile.

Later saw him do Othello and met him afterwards, a brilliant performance and a thoroughly warm and funny bloke too.

Back on topic, VW was a brilliant writer and performer. Dinnerladies is so precise it's jaw droppingly brilliant and funnier than almost everything

I saw her live must be about 25 years ago at the Palladium, very enjoyable and laughed a good few times

yes she was a great talent, comedienne, comedy writer, musician and actress.
As BB says, a big loss.

I never really "got" Victoria Wood when I was younger but now watching repeats of Dinnerladies etc I can appreciate how funny and talented she was as a writer, actor and songwriter.

Good on you guys for sharing your thoughts & insights :)

Very sad loss, she was a very talented, amusing lady

I never really got VW as a comedian but she seemed a realy nice person and it is sad she went at such a young age

My parents loved her, she was a similar age to them so they always said that her stand-up routines matured through the years discussing the same things they were going through (getting married, having kids, kids leaving home etc etc)
Personally I found her songwriting a particularly amazing skill, very very clever.

There is so much good stuff of hers. Just watching the simple sketch with the two women in the food queue. There's so much there. I don't think there's a single redundant line in it.

The Lenny henry show was good as well. I had forgotten just how much good stuff he did too. Nice to see a time when talent show winners had some actual talent.

Two soups....?

Funniest sketch I have ever seen.

There's that as well :)

It was the one that mentions prawns treading water with their mouths open at sewage outlets.
