Nikon are doing the D600 with kit lens for $2000 which as he points out puts the body only at $1500 or about £1000..assuming you can sell the 24-85 I suppose.

If they do anything like that over here I might find it very hard to resist.

Absolutely brilliant offer (and I hope it comes to the UK).

However, I did read somewhere that it's very unpresidented for Nikon to do this kind of rebate (instant and which such high value - the free $500 lens). The theory behind it was suggested that i) Nikon is trying to shift old inventory of a product that's known to have a problem - the D600 with the dust issue; and ii) the kit lens isn't selling well.

Obviously not saying I know any of this is true or not (as I don't), but the deal obviously seems stonking!

There's also another deal on the D800 which has $200 clipped off its price.

Come on deals, come to the Uk!
