With myself that is, I went out with BT this morning early to find a great vantage point for the Tour Of Britain, and found one only to be overcome with kids and families but will not complain as they have every right to see a wonderfull event too.
So I went about 200m up the road to another nice set of bends and set the camera up for the harsh lighting conditions (extremely bright and white) so the CPL was fitted, I picked my spot and after 1hr the two breakaway riders approached.......as they passed a bloody outrider got to their side and ruined that opportunity for me.

Next came the peleton 15 mins behind and what did they decide to do.....ride as close to me as humanly possible making my focussing naff, An 18mm lens isnt much cop when the subject is 10 inches away, Now I know some of you will be thinking take a step back......NO there was a 7' drop into a ditch about 6" to the rear of me so it was a definate no.

Is it my assumption these riders dont like getting their photos taken as they weren't to busy to joke with me as they went past, one rider asked if his bum looked big in his shorts:lol: and another said as he went by "get me into cycling weekly"

Yours GUTTED

Pete:lol:

Poor sod :(

I got annoyed when it came around my way last year, got a good spot looking down a hill, but as soon as they came into view everyone poured into the road with their cameras only moving just before they got hit, leaving me with no change of getting a shot without random spectators arms etc in.

The time before in Derby however I got a spot and got some good shots with riders almost posing and smiling as they went past...just how it goes I guess, certainly is a fast event to try and cover, over in no time and hard to get infront to try again.

Going to put a couple up for crit but I know they aint good:lol: my poor choice of vantage point I guess but at least we got to see the opening stage:thumbs:

Bikes??? What's wrong with these people? Don't they know they'd get there a lot quicker if they went by car?

We watching the race on ITV 4 ... hopefully we#ve made the telly instead
