very amature photographer on board

hi everyone
i am a chef and take amateur photos to use on my website etc, i have just bought a second hand canon Eos 350 from a friend for £200 and hope i am paying a good price for the camera ???????? (it came with the standard lens)

any help, tricks or tips on using the camera would be very much appreciated, i have uploaded some of my own shots so i hope you all like them and can help me out in any way
