12 days ago I felt a strange sensation , like one revolution of a lighthouse in my head and thought that's odd

Next morning I got up and felt awful, couldn't get out of bed for 4 days without being violently sick

Talk about stir crazy 8 days stuck in the house

This weekend I managed to stagger round a garden centre , and today it's almost gone except when I walk it looks like I'm p***ed as I seem to have developed a stagger to the left

Th doctor is convinced it'll go over the next few days , it better , it's driving me nuts being a passenger

My wife took me out in the WRX , she holds the world record for the slowest 0-45 in history for a WRX , it's painful

Your wife isn't related to my wife is she ?? Would appear so from the driving habits

Your doctor should refer you for an ultrasound of the heart.
Severe emetic vertigo can be a symptom of an aortic weakness...a balloon like bulge in the blood vessel.
My father suffered similar.
At least it should be ruled out

If it's not gone by Friday I'm going back so I'll mention that, thanks

I bet doctors love the Internet , he already described the symptoms of an illness that he couldn't put a name to untill I told him

Honestly it was painful, I think that's the first time I've been in it with her driving , in 4th at 30 , she even managed to find a nice space at the garden centre until I told her we were parked in the road to the rest of the car park

Sounds like you might have suffered an attack of Labyrinthitis - if you need to, try to get some Serc for the dizzy spells, Stemetil is another option will also help, but will reduce the sickly feeling (also travel sickness tablets) more than Serc.

Hope it passes Darren - Keep an eye on your hearing - if you feel it's dropping in 1 ear or you start with Tinnitus -> straight to your GP and have referral to ENT...

I feel for you Darren, I have had regular attacks on and off for 11yrs, been poked and prodded by ent and the gp's to no avail, they put it down to stress with me and shoved me out with serc 16.

I'm on Prochlorperazine , I'll have to google to see what it does

Still the same this morning , about 80% with a drift like my tracking is out but at least I'm not being sick, I lay there dreading to move because I knew what was coming.

I've just noticed my title has changed, looks like marcel has been busy again

OMG I remember this it was truly horrible.
Even a couple of months after it stopped I used to be sick driving home from work.
Its nasty and you need to get advice if it goes on.
My attack of this lasted 7 weeks I nearly got the sack from work

I hope it doesn't last 7 weeks, not being able to drive is doing my head in

:eek::eek::eek:

Sounds a bit sickeningly familiar. Among other symptoms, I had similar 3 years ago. Mine was fairly easily cured - a day of brane surgery to remove a meningioma... Sincerely hope that that's not your problem but at least mine was a realatively simple bit of mechanics to sort!

Are these any of the other symptoms

p***ed off
Bored
Thinking of painting something( through boredom)
Looking at people driving thinking lucky b*****d

Post operation, yes, all of the above! Pre, not so much - thoughts were an unwanted complication!

true but at least you're through it now I hope

Fingers crossed! It's actually my 3rd rebirthday on the 6th of next month and we'll be in warm and sunny climes for it. Got a boat trip planned to a friend's bar on a beach (weather dependent, of course - if not millpond smooth, Mrs Nod might have to drive me back!!!) for the day! The biggest PITA was getting my license back from the DVLA who apparently lost my first application (but managed to find the cheque...) then took almost 18 months to decide I was well enough to drive, despite my surgeon and GP being happy after about 3. Never mind, all in the past now.

Hope they get you sorted soon, Darren and the chances of your problem being similar to mine are miniscule, so don't worry about it.

Last year at work I came over very nauseous and dizzy. Made it back to my office just and then proceeded to vomit. I had to be taken in a wheelchair to my wifes car while I vomited all the way home. Emergency doctor called and diagnosed severe vertigo. 8 days of lying down and only standing to get to the toilet or bed. Horrendous thing vertigo I do sympathise. I now carry travel sickness pills with me incase the symptoms ever return. I went back to work after two weeks but it took 5 weeks to fully recover.
I never fully understood vertigo until I experienced it.

I suffer with Ménière's disease and occasional bouts of vertigo have been a feature of my life for the past two decades or so. It is awful and the unpredictability of an attack is difficult to deal with. I collapsed in a filling station many years ago, it's embarrassing and people imagine you've been drinking or something. There's little in the form of really effective treatment either, it's grim. :(

My ex partner suffered from BPV benign positional vertigo which was helped by the Epley Maneuver
