Hi, has anyone been to Venezuela in a rainy season (september), is it really that wet? Iam planning to see Caracas, then east coastline to Isla Margerita and deep into the jungle to the Orinoko River. Unfortunately ive got only 3 weeks and only in september, so i got to organise it to maximum to get as much Venezuela as possible. Do you guys know any places to visit or not to visit, any tips, any things worth doing and seeing:thinking:?? Please help:wave:

I visited Margerita in June some years ago and loved it. This was start of the rainy season and it only rained a couple of times but both times very heavy!!!! To be honest I only went for a beach holiday so didn't venture that far.

Hi,

We went to Margarita in September many years ago and had a great time. As Nick says, when it rained it absolutely poured down but in a typical tropical way; lasted half an hour, wasn't cold and dried up an hour later. Spent whole two weeks on beach and in the sea and came back with a lovely tan.

I remember that it was a very poor island and water cost more than petrol as it had to be piped from the mainland. In contrast, the petrol was so cheap the taxis were all big old american cars. Lovely people, felt safe at all times and would happily go back.

If you decide to go i hope you have a wonderful time.
