I'm after a new tripod, as I've been asked to shoot a school prom and the one I have isn't very stable.
I have seen the Velbon CX-640 tripod for £38.90 online with free delivery.

Any comments on this tripod or any other recommendations? I can't afford to spend much over £50 as it won't be used that often.

I have had the CX-660 for many years now and can't fault it as like you I don't use it very often. Seems very stable and have used it at several public events etc without a problem.
