Supposed to me collecting this tomorrow night but having second thoughts due to the fact regarding DPF problems and especially since the dealer hasn't mentioned anything about the regenerating issues. Can anybody on here put my mind at rest.....
 
I drive a Diesel with a DPF and too much of its mileage is around town. However, an occasional trip of 30 miles or so has kept the regen warning light off for the past couple of years. Have a look at the handbook to see what Vauxhall suggest in the way of trips to do the regen - worth following their suggestions.
 
Had an Insignia 2.0 CDTI 160 (not sure if same engine as Antara) for a year now and never had any indication of DPF trouble (haven't even noticed it regen). I do a fair amount of stop-start urban driving with a weekly m'way blast.

I'm guessing people who generally experience trouble are those who don't even have that occasional long journey, e.g. the leased diesel Qashqai that gets used for a 3 mile school run each day and rarely gets up to 60.

Hi appreciate the feedback,but the reason I've posted this is to hear from Antara owners who have similar vehicle, also I'm not keen on having my driving style dictated by a car manufacturer, seriously thinking of not going through with this deal which is a real shame....
 
Matt's right about the dpf, it's not specific to any one car. You won't have any issues with it unless you only ever do stop start driving round town. Even a few minutes on the open road is enough to clear out the tubes so to speak.
 
Yep, agreed. I don't have a Vauxhall but never seen the regen warning light. Just driven normally, round town with the odd mway blast
