Back home now but had a try with my brothers Vario 2 this afternoon to start this post..:nuts:

It seems bizarre sat in a lay-by in my lorry posting on the forums and browsing the internet.

Anyone heard of a better deal than T-Mobile are offering with their Web & Walk offers. Pick a talk package and pay £7.50p on top and have a 24/7 internet package to go with it..:clap:

I have a Nokia 6280 which I can surf via o2 but it hasnt got a web address bar to access forums etc. The Vario 2 has these features and a host more besides.

All you gizmo freaks with internet on the move tell me your thoughts on what you have please..:)

Also... I presume this phone could send the internet signal to a laptop via bluetooth and view from that if you so wish.:thinking:

I use my Vario at home over wireless lan to browse stuff in bed.

So are you saying you can configure the internet from your vario to a laptop or desktop for that matter mrgubby..:thinking:

My Vario (XDA-MiniS on O2) has Wireless lan and connects to my home network , so I can browse in bed :)

Am I missing the point here.:bang:

Say a house has no internet at all but owns a laptop with built in wireless and bluetooth.

Question: Can the Vario send its internet connection to the laptop so you can browse via the laptop as well as the vario..:bonk:
 
I've got the SPV M600 from orange and was browsing TPF from the caravan in Bridlington mid August ;)

Depends on the phone, some will allow you to use the phone as a GPRS modem yes, it'll be in the phone manual if it does. You might need a bluetooth connection between the laptop and the phone or a usb link - again it depends on the phone.

Basically making it easier to view the net from the laptop rather than the phone..:help:
 
You're asking wether your phone can act as a gateway for the pc to access the net.


No idea, sorry!

If I understand what you are asking :thinking: , yes you can use the phone as a modem to connect to the internet .

You should be able to do a peer-2-peer using the wireless lan, Bluetooth or the IR port , depends on what the laptop has :)

I hate my mobile (well, I would if I could find it) and any other device which means I may be more contactable while not in the office. Red phoneboxes rule :D
 
ive got a PSP that can surf, and my Mio PDA too, but only when connected to a gateway of sorts. Got an LG Chocolate incoming so will see what that does!
 
When I used to work for c&w we got a mobile and a mobile/modem that plugged into the computer it was red and said Vodafone in big letters and I think charged the same account as our mobiles did.... probably not what ya'll are talking about though...leaving quietly

I use an O2 XDA IIs. Have done for nearly 2 years now, brilliant. The best one was when the chap in PC world wouldn’t give me the ‘online’ discount on an Epson printer I wanted to buy. So I just got me XDA out, ordered it for collection, said thank you and went and picked it up. The look on his face was priceless :lol: :D
