Hello there. Big week. Book launched last week and this week I bring you an all new and improved HDR Tutorial. Its got a PDF too so you can download it and print it. Examples of what you can do with HDR are included and theres one constant image used throughout the guide as an example. I've included a detailed FAQ, quick test of FDR Tools, Photoshop and all sorts. If you liked the old guide you'll love this new one. At least I hope you will :)

HDR Tutorial. You can also save 15% off Photomatix by using the coupon code: VanillaDays.

You missed the opening bit then :p

You’ll get a chapter on landscapes, interiors, exteriors, people, street photography, black and white processing and lots of other tips n tricks too. Its by far the most comprehensive HDR book on the market.

The book isn't just how to tone map 1 image in Photomatix. Its how to use HDR on a daily basis with a variety of subjects. Behind the scenes info on all my iconic photos too.

Yeah probably an exageration on my part, I skimmed about a quarter of it , it did look much better though.

Very comprehensive and detailed guide which I am sure many will find very informative, it must have taken you forever to write that.

Very nice and interesting , why is it sitting on Amazon.com for $26.39 and Amazon uk for £26.94...

Oh I have no idea what Amazon do. It was £13ish yesterday. I just helped write it.

Ok thanks, just thought it would have shown up as same price seeings it was with the same compnay..

Just got the book from Amazon (had it on pre-order), I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but first flick through I'm impressed at the quality of the printing, all the photos look great. Looking forward to having a good read :) You must be well chuffed now it's out.

Technically the £24 price is around normal retail. Amazon must have dropped the price to promote early sales and maybe its gone over that limit in the UK but not the US. :shrugs:

Aye its ok I guess :)

Great Pete, thanks for sharing.
I'm getting a problem with the PDF though, it's coming up as damaged mate.

I can’t seem to get on with Photomatix in the slightest so hopefully this will help me out in understanding it.

Just goes to show who has skill and who doesn't ....... Do you believe me now Dal ..... that you can get awesome results from photomatix you just have to persevere!!!!

Nice one pete ...hope your getting the royalties for your hard work?

I have never said you can't get good results from it, I still stand by the fact that I personally find the other program much easier to use than photomatix, I managed to use it straight away, but with photomatix I still cant get it to work. It's just personal preference.

I'm gonna read through this tutorial later on tonight, give it a whirl.

Photomatix is a little tricky at first but thats why I put down settings and examples of what they do. I use the same settings for most so once you've got it down just save them and sorted :)

I think thats what had put me off the program. I used another program and picked it up straight away, it was very easy to use and gave me some great results. I've not done a proper HDR yet, just tone mapped images.

I've got a couple on my site if you want to look. I don't want to post them in your thread and hijack it.

I've just been reading your tutorial and its nice and clear and very well written. Thanks

Hi Pete, I'm just reading through your guide as I get a bit of time at work. I've noticed a few typos. Do you want me to collate them and send them to you?

Good work by the way.
