Hi guys,
Anyone used the above site at all? Looks okish in terms of prices generally.
thanks

Well they have an address in the UK that is well out of London about 50 miles yet a london area code phone number...

It's looks like they've copied DigitalRev when it comes to the website

Personally I wouldn't touch it :( some of the prices looks about what I would expect and others are quite a lot lot lower and that IMO is a little suspect

thanks. it did look slightly dodgy to me but was unsure as some prices were as I'd expect. also googling gave + and - reviews main negative was delivery times.

From the Conditions of use they describe themselves as "ValueBasket.com Limited (ValueBasket.com)".. I can't find anything on my usual credit checking services by that name. There is nothing appearing on a companies house search either.

A who is search reveals that the web name is registered via Godaddy. Most alarmingly the domain contact details, (which should list who really registered or owns the domain), are deliberately obfuscated by Godaddys "domains by proxy" service. So someone somewhere really doesn't want people to know who owns that site. To the level that they have gone out of their way to hide

Also all UK companies should list their company reg number on their website. That is law, damned if i can find anything on that site.

In summary we have:
A company claiming to be ValueBasket.com Limited ( see here ) where no such company exists in the UK.
Deliberately hiding who owns their web presence.

I suspect you have a foreign registered company, probably far eastern based, running a drop ship operation with a UK warehouse. They might be fine to deal with.

I wouldn't risk it. However I would be happy to be proved otherwise.

Should also add from there T&C's

Disputes : Any dispute, or claim relating in any way to your visit to our website or to products or services sold or distributed by ValueBasket.com will be subject to confidential binding arbitration in Hong Kong, rather than in court, except that you may submit for claims in small claims court if your claims qualify. Arbitration will not include any judge or jury, and court review of an arbitration ward is limited. However, an arbitrator can award on an individual basis the same damages and relief as a court (including injunctive and declaratory relief or statutory damages), and must follow the terms of these Conditions of Use as a court would. Arbitration shall be conducted, and documents presented, in English; or be accompanied by an English translation of the documents. The Arbitration award will state the reason(s) upon which the award is based.

That to me suggest that if you have any issue that they are not willing to correct you will have to got to Hong Kong to even try and settle them :shake: I think this is barge poles of a certain length time

It's another HK retailer that has employed the services of a call forwarding/mail handling service in the UK.

All the usual caveats apply....

By way of a postscript; On the 14th of the month I sent these guys an email asking for clarification on the issues raised in this thread. I still haven't had a reply.
