Valentines day

i dispise valentines day, its commercial, and breeds the idea that 'i've tried hard on one day so i wont bother for the other 364.25days' but suzie is ademant i should buy her something, so i guess ill have to find something in stockholm airport on monday morning hadnt i!
 
Well, we decided to bring Valentines day forward a week, so we had our Valentine's day yesterday as next week Dave is on-call and I'll be feeling sore and groggy after my op ;)
 
well I hope you had a nice valentines day then :)
 
Many years ago it used to be fun trying to get a card to arrive from all over via various friends and contacts and hope the postmark is not scrubbed out. Now can send them to grandchildren!
 
Well as I'm not single now looks like I may be doing something on Valantines, probably take her out. :)

Dammit why couldn't I have met her 2 weeks later and saved myself a pretty penny.........:p
 
Tried booking table for 2 @ colleys supper rooms in reading, a fantastic 4 to 6 course meal, true british style http://www.colleyssupperrooms.co.uk/
but as usual at short notice it's never available hence will be dining at the local italian.

Oooh - that sounds like a really nice place. Only trouble is, I struggle to eat 3 courses, so I think 6 would just about finish me off altogether.
 
You are so right mini, after 6 courses you are kinda finish. They take U in by 7:30 pm and by the time U leave around midnight U may need a stretcher to carry u to your car (No stretcher service is provided by the restaurant though :-)
 
Going to Prague next week for Valentines, Paris is for poofs, plus its full of French people :D

Nothing planned for tonight. I bought her some flowers and a couple of books. She bought me a shirt, a book and some chocolates. Also when I opened the card from her this morning a blank cheque fell out so I could get something for my camera :)

I'm wondering if "another camera" can be classed as "something for my camera" :lol:
 
HMmmmm well just got in from work, after swapping cards this morning didnt expect anything else (as we had already discussed we couldnt afford it) then went to work at lunchtime, in the middle of a busy childrens ward a guy from interflora turns up with teddy bear and a dozen red roses (well thirteen but one head was nearly broken off-dont know if he is trying to tell me something)

So thank you very much matt for cheering up what otherwise was a very sad day (at work):)

Woke up this morning and went to work. Got an email from the treasurer of my badminton club with an update on the dues, and noticed that today is the 14th of February. Hey! It's V-day!

So, I went to play badminton after work for a couple hours with my ex-colleagues. Came back and re-heated the left overs from last night for dinner. Then, I watched the latest episode of Heroes. Write a couple emails and here I am. :)

Sorry. I probably just bored you to tears. hahaha.

If you think you can do better (or worse!), tell us what did you do on V-day. ;)

Aww Kamion :hug: If it's any consolation, I spent the majority of V day on my own and in pain :( Dave was on-call for work and was very busy so I hardly saw him yesterday. I just kept popping the painkillers and drinking this awful brown peppermint stuff :gag: Very romantic eh?
 
hope you'll feel better soon, min. :( don't take too much pain killers, unless you absolutely have to. And make sure you eat proprely while taking pain killers too.

Hmmm,

Woke up at 530, to drive down to Surrey for work, arrived on site at 9, spent all day working, no lunch, left site 6pm, arrived home at 930, sat and watched TV until just after midnight, went to bed !

Was it Valentines yesterday then ? I would never have known ! lol

I went out with a couple of friends (as the gf is at uni and unavail till fri) and played a couple of games of pool, then had a burger from a kebab shop which I suspect has given me a dodgy gut :gag:
 
For valentines day I got my wife a card, also a new bag and a new belt.

so at least the vacuum cleaner is working ok now...lolol

Thanks. :D But it wasn't a rough day, really. Just a typical Wednesday for me! :lol:

It's not any consolation that you've been receiving anonymous disturbing text messages. :( Sorry to hear that. Hope whoever it is stops cause it's not even remotely funny. :bat:

the texts have stopped now, they have nothing on me so i called their bluff and told em to do their worst! not nice, sad to think they've nothing better to do:shake:
