Guys I haven't been on here for ages but I am sure this would be a great place to satrt with this question...

In america they talk about using large reflector boards made from gatorboard or foam core board, usually about 8ft by 4ft white on oneside and blck on the other and split down the midle like a book, they refer to these as "V Flats"

what material and where would i buy it from in the UK I live in Nottingham and would like to make some of these "V Flats" ASAP and cheaply so any help and advise would be greatly appreciated please.

I don't know what these v flats are but it sounds like you could maybe do something with 8x4 sheets of polystyrene from a builders merchants and you could paint one side with blackboard paint
 
It's still known as foamboard in the UK and you can get it from lots of places in the UK, including here http://www.foamboard.co.uk/
