Using wallet in Apple phone advice please

Hi can someone explain please if I started using iPhone 6s for storing say loyalty cards as example Tesco Nectar how a shop uses the data at the till

Also if you buy tickets on line say from a cinema showcase is local for me how does the cinema accept them at the door

My concern as an older never used method before is will I have to keep handing my phone over

Really sorry if this is mega basic

Yes just show your phone they will scan it. I never hand my over, I present mine. Just like with my airline tickets...

Cheers it was largely handing the phone over that really put me off so if that's not your experience its worth a shot

The app just shows the bar code that matches your card or ticket number so the shop or venue can scan it. Nothing more.
