I always have this problem and anyone that shoots motorsport has probably come across this at some point. Fences!!
Is there any way in this software that I can remove the fence or fade it out more so its a clearer image of the cars behind? or am I just being stupid and missing something obvious with it?

Any help will be greatly appreciated or any advice on how to remove the fence with camera settings.

Far as I'm aware you can't do anything complex like that in view nx2, you can just adjust the basics. Something like that you'd need image editing software like Photoshop.

this isn't one of my best as its with my old camera, but it highlights what I mean. I feel this would be a good shot if the fence wasn't in the way as the camera was constantly adjusting focus points. Just to remove or fade out the fence would be helpful.

Well.. the main problem is the focus and removing the fence with software isn't going to help that. You could largely remove the line in photoshop with a mixture of content-aware fill, cloning and dodging. It'd probably take me 10 minutes to get it to an acceptable level on this image. On a sharper shot it would be harder to get convincing results.

I don't shoot motorsport - but if you want to pan, have you tried shooting in continuous servo mode to dodge the fence?
And what about pre-focusing rather than using auto-focus?

@juggler luckily on my new camera I have better options for pre-focus and continuous shooting so hopefully this will remove the fence line. thank you for the advice, being a beginner I wasn't sure if it was possible or if it was just some setting changes I needed.

It's definitely not possible in view nx2 but is in Photoshop as Simon said.
