Just got a new Spyder 3 pro and quickly reading instructions, it mentions using suckers or dangling the spyder over the monitor. I have got a HP ZR24w IPS Monitor and was worried about damaging the screen with the suckers. I'm in no hurry to do this calibration, so has anyone out here had any experience of this.

Yup tip your monitor back slightly and just let it hang against the screen. Make sure you update the software to the latest version.

There's me holding the thing in place and thinking "this has got to be easier... ahhh, now my arm is going numb". It's not like I don't have monitor with tilt features either...

:cuckoo:

The counterbalance on the cable hangs over the back so the spyder hangs in place (appearing to be upside down)

Make sure when you tilt it back it doesn't get any reflections hitting the screen or reflections from coloured walls etc.

Sounds silly but it does make a difference.

I use a large elastic band around the monitor and slip the Spyder underneath.

Matt doesnt the Spyder have a rubber ring on yours that sits against the screen and blocks out stray light. I just let mine gently touch the screen and it seems to work okay. I suppose if you have very bright lighting youd get effects.

The Light enters through the clear plastic/Glass that covers the a actual LCD it's unavoidable. But it's only if you have light hitting the screen.
