Hi ,
I couldn't justify spending alot of dosh on fancy software so bought serif program , at moment when I save an image after playing with it I am only offered to save it in .spp format which is complete pants when I forward it to anyone as you need serif to open again . Is there something I am missing (probably !) or am I wasting my time and better sticking with the basic canon programs ?
Thanks
David

Is there no option to export? I have used PhotoPlus in the past (v6 I think) and you could certainly save in jpeg etc.

Don't know anything about the program, but if you've any layers in it I'd imagine it'll only offer the native format for saving, just like Photoshop offering to save in PSD? Perhaps try making sure the image is flattened, squished, squashed or whatever the Serif equivalent of 'flatten' is in Photoshop...

Thanks ,
Found what I required under export , I was looking for save as or convert .
Great now I can really try playing with it properly now as I was getting p****d off:)

yes, export to save as various formats. I had a copy to review and was reasonably impressed, i found it to be slow but that was the only real gripe

I didnt have any crashes at all, just speed issues. Did you have the latest updates installed for it (irony there though, the PDF software i had from serif wouldnt update...PoS that was! :O )

In defence of Serif photo Plus I have used their programs since Photo Plus 5 and always found them very good.

I am now on Photo Plus X2 and virtually all my editing is done on it.

You can save in a great many formats including Photoshop (.psd)

I have no probs with crashes etc and the speed is quite good (using Intel Duo Core running at 2.6Ghz with 2Gig RAM.)

Must admit I have never paid the full price since I am on their mailing list and usually get the progs a few years after release at knock down prices.

For example I got PP X2 for £12.00 including disk, and A5 manual.

The only thing it has problems with is importing RAW but that's no trouble for me since I use DPP to convert to TIFFs first then import them after running Neat Image to de-noise them.

It's amazing what you can find in the manual or online Help.:D:lol:

It's merge.
