Using photos for website - copyright query

Hi

I have been given access to a photo library from a French tourist board to use their photos free of charge on our website.

I have been asked that Images must be credited with the photographer's name.

Is it enough to name/save as the images with the photographer's name or not?
If not what needs to be done exactly.

If you are talking about naming the files you put onto the site, that would not be enough IMO. Most people won't even be aware of it and the file names may be changed by the content management system on your web site.

I should think a simple Photo Jean Dupont line of text underneath the photograph would suffice, though.

Take a look at http://www.liberation.fr, they are very good at crediting the authors of the photographs they use.
