Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to use high sync using canon 580 ex 1 and 2 mounted on a youngon wireless triggers? I cant seem to get it to work. Thanks all!

I am using canon 50d, when i use the flash on cAmera the high sync works.

Yeah using the flash normally it max sync is 250 but it has high sync on the flash which allows me to sync past 250 but when i try ocf it doesnt seem to work. Do i need to get pocket wizards because i saw this done with them?

Thanks for that. Well thats not good now :) looks like saving money should start :)

Well it wouldnt be the first time mate :)

I'm not being funny, but are you sure you want/need HSS for your off camera work? As soon as you go from using normal sync speeds to HSS you start to lose power from the flash. The higher your shutter the speed the greater the loss. You lose close to a stop of power as soon as you go above sync speed by even 1/3 stop and then you lose a further stop each time you double the shutter speed. Stick the flash on the camera and just watch how the range scale decreases as you push shutter speeds past the sync speed.

If you want to shoot outdoors at large apertures you may find it a better option to use an ND filter to bring down ambient light levels. There are also ways to shoot off camera at above sync speed if you can positoin the shutter shadow where it will be invisible within the frame or can simply be cropped out later.
