Yes
hello all, going to buy myself a flashgun soon, probably next week (a sigma 530 super) for anyone wanting to know.

i have an interfit ex200 studio kit and i was wondering, is there any way i can use them both at the same time?

for example, using the flash on the camera with the interfit strobies ringflash and then using the studio lights to light the background???

any help muchio appreciated before i drop £300 on the flash and strobies kit...

Didn't you manage to get one of those 430 EXs? :(

How are you triggering your studio lights?

Oh and did you see this post re the Strobies set up?

afraid not, got the 24-105mm f4 L instead

the specs of the sigma compare pretty well against the canon 430 and its £20 cheaper too!

im using interfit wireless triggers, not sure if they are infra-red or radio though?

il read up on the thread. thanks

Does the strobes ave a slave function? If so they can be triggered off by another flash, like your flashgun.

No problem at all, other than possible variations in colour temperature - which won't be noticeable if you're only using the Interfit lights on the background.

yes they have 3 different slave lights so guessing this is for different channels?

im new to this wireless set-up malarky, everything we done in college was wired and bowens lights but want to get out more and get portraits done on location.

You can always test it out, if you have you strobes ready fire you flash on your camera and see if the strobes go off when there set to slave. Try it on all 3 settings if you don't know which one to put on.

Personally I'd rather pay the extra and get the Canon flash, it's worth it in the long run

that's the thing, i don't own the flashgun or strobies kit and its an awful lot of money to spend if it doesn't work!

borrowing a mate's flashgun, a 430 mk 1, hopefully this will fire them... :woot:

The Rayflash ringlights were going for around £50 in Canon fit, that might be a better option

I didn't say it was any good, I just said it was better

Nikon's flash system is light years ahead of Canon's :)

i know.. its amazing isnt it. how can canon's be so carp?

if it wasnt for losing money id switch to nikon tomorrow just for the flash system to be honest.
but lets stop there!!!!!!!!!!!!

there are cheaper flashes if your scared of losing money. Jessops do a £35 flash for canon which is just basic but for £35 what can you expect. They also do a £99 one which has alot more features.

You said you have the interfit strobes already? Cant you set them to slave and fire the build in flash on your camera?

i don't have a flash on my camera, damn 5d. :bang:

yeah i have the interfit strobes but looking at buying the strobies kit to use on location and with my strobes i already have.
