Further question!Yesterday I went out and took numerous photographs at a local cricket match and decided to shoot in RAW. There are a couple of things that I need help with please. Firstly I have managed to get the shots onto my PC and was immediately surprised that I could actually see anything of the images as I always thought that I had to do something with a RAW file before I would be able to even look at it. However I have opened up Digital Photo Professional and sure enough there are my 199 images showing under the heading 'Folder', I then went through each of the images in turn to decide which of them I would send to a couple of friends and as I chose each shot I went into 'File' and 'Add to collection' and then ended up with just that, a collection of my chosen shots that I could send on to my friends but, I couldn't see how to 'Save' this collection. I then assumed that as I had created it then the programme would automatically save it but, when I came out of the programme and then went into it later I found that the B**** collection was no longer there so I need to start all over again ( a thousand curses!). So a number of questions arise here.....even though I can see the "RAW" images in the folder, do I need to do anything with them before they can be saved in a 'collection' and, I also spotted a thread where someone had updated their version of DPP and for the life of me I cannot see how to do this, can anyone please tell me how to go about getting the update. The only other software that I have is Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0. I also took a couple of hundred images in JPEG just in case I made a mess of the venture into RAW so I will obviously be having to do some 'sharpening etc' of both sets of my images but again this will all be new ground for me, so a lot of work ahead methinks, along with more help from TP'ers. Now I am fairly new to all of this and am just getting into the more enthusiastic side of photography and whilst I am 'reasonable' on a pc I am not that brilliant so do need a little guidance. Any help will be greatly appreciated as I would also like to put up some of my shots for comment by the extremely helpful folk here on TP. Many many thanks in advance of any help being offered.
