Using Creative Cloud without Internet?

Yes
I recently took out a subscription for a photography package from Adobe so I've got Lightroom and Photoshop. As I don't have Internet at home at the moment I checked with Adobe who confirmed that as long as I connected to the net occasionally using the subscription package offline was no problem.

My laptop has packed in so I borrowed a friends for a day to edit some pics from a charity event the other day. He has the full Adobe Creative Cloud subscription but I cannot get it to open without connecting to the net. Mine opens without any problems despite being only being connected around 3 times since I got the subscription 2 months ago when I open his I just get the no Internet connection message and can't go any further.

Chances are I'm missing something really obvious here so I'll apologise in advance for the dumb question but has anybody got any suggestions on how to get around this.

You have to periodically sign-in to your account. And using/syncing Lightroom Mobile needs you to be signed in and online.

Are you trying to use his CC subscription, or are you trying to use your Photo CC account on his installed software?

I'm using his account not mine (okay I realise that's naughty but I do have my own :) ) His laptop was last connected to CC yesterday. My own one has worked despite the fact it gets connected to the net once a month if it's lucky! I usually just edit then transfer the files to a portable drive and use the Internet at work if I need to send them to anyone!

I'm using CS6 on my Mac which I downloaded a couple of years ago. Does anyone know if I subscribed to CC I could download this and use it on my Mac and also Windows Laptop ?

According to the information I got before taking out my subscription you can use it on 2 devices! I don't think you can use them both online at the same time though

Are you trying to open the CC app, or are you trying to open LR/PS directly?

Thank you. No I would either use it on the Mac (Desk top) or the Laptop (Windows). Never at the same time. So you can use it on the two operating systems under one subscription.

That was one of the things that confused me... On mine I can open both directly. On his there was no way to open them other than in the app! Have given up for now going to buy a new charger for my old laptop and use the ancient Photoshop CS2 that's on that until I get my laptop back.

You can definitely use it on 2 systems as many use a laptop when they're out and about and a desktop at work or home.

Yes no problems with two computers as long as you use only one at a time and it's only you who uses it. I have standalone LR6 and use on a iMac and a laptop. If you tried to use it on a third computer it won't let you as you cannot be signed in on more than two computers with one account or serial number. You have to sign the account out on one computer prior to signing on another computer. I had to do this as I had used my previous laptop whilst away once. Before it worked on the new one I can to log out on the old one.

One possibility is did he log out of his Adobe account before before before lending you his laptop? He may have done that so he could login and use another computer's account that wasn't active. Re "I cannot get it to open without connecting to the net" is it prompting for his Adobe account password?

No he definitely left it signed in and he only has the software installed on the one laptop and didn't sign into his account on any other device.
There was no prompt to sign in to the account just the no Internet connection error message.

I managed to get a charger for my old laptop so ended up editing the pics on the CS2 installed on that but we're still trying to work out why I couldn't get his to work offline.
