Using a tablet to assist PP

Couple of questions here. Firstly, I understand there are apps which allow programmable buttons, which can be used with photoshop, could someone recommend an iOS app which does this and a brief explanation on how to use it?

Also, is there something similar for lightroom? Perhaps one which has the sliders Menu could be on the iPad screen allowing more room on the monitor to see the image your editing? Could be very useful.

I believe what you are looking for is an application like AirDisplay which will allow you to use your Ipad as a secondary touch screen display with either Windows or Mac. Although I have not personally used AirDisplay I did try a similar App on Android and while it did work with Lightroom (as a secondary display and touch screen) I encountered issues with responsiveness and screen resolution which may have been related to the ASUS TF200 Android tablet I was testing it with. I believe a Gen-3/4 Ipad with retina might have worked better.

I am not 100% sure what it does but there is something out for Lightroom called "the touch" which uses a tablet as commander for controls. Might be worth a look

Oh, and I use xdisplay which makes my ipad a secondary screen for my mac (and I think it works with pc too). It is laggy but I like it.
