Hi, I have recently taken some photos of snakes and have landed myself, what I consider to be a great shot. I only have one issue and that is that on this image the snake is not showing its tongue. On another image I have the snake showing it tongue and I want to transfer that tongue onto the better image.

My problem is that the tongue is blurred (in a good way:)) and the background is not a solid black (I was using a black sheet and the texture catches some light). The tongue will be layered over the snakes as its coming back over itself, the snake is an orange colour (corn snake like this), can anyone advise the best course of action on how to apply the layer please?

My knowledge of photoshop isn't to bad so im happy working with more advanced techniques if required - which I guess I will need to if its possible.

I'm guessing some layer blend modes might work here. Hard to see without the images.

Screen mode will usually drop out black (layer bled mode) but I suspect you need some layer masking too.

so, just to clarify.. you want to put the tongue from this shot...
