usb stick and magnets

Hey all,

I've got a old usb stick that's seen better days. I was thinking of making it a little different and making a wood case for it. Very similar to ebay number 360403192516. The one in the picture looks to use magnets to hold the cover on, but im sure i've read somewhere magnets and memory cards/usb drives is a no no :shrug: Any thoughts would be most welcome

I think the magnets are small enough not to worry about.
Magnets cam erase digital data, but i guess it means magnets with significant strength.

Coupled with the fact that data on a memory drive is usually disposable anyway,
Sounds a fun project!

Magnets don't affect Flash media, they affect only magnetic disks i.e. conventional hard drives. good luck with your project
