Bit of a strange one, my helpdesk have no idea about it.

Firstly I have all the latest MS drivers installed. OS Is Win 7 Pro. HP Elitebook 8440p, connected to mains.

I have tried to connect 3 USB keyboards, typically both the UK ones don't work. But the Belgian one did.

The UK ones don't show any indication that they are recevicing power. I have swapped around all the ports and other devices work in them all.

Device manager shows that the device needs a driver update, but can't find one when it searches.:bonk:

It is a wired Microsoft 600 and I have also tried a basic Kensington. The one that did work was a Belgian HP.

All language settings are OK.

interesting. presumably those keyboards all function in other computers okay?

it sounds like a USB power issue, wonder if your IT dept have a powered USB hub you could test it on?

Search the Microsoft databank for your specific keyboard...if one keyboard works in the USB port, it's probably a driver issue....microsoft keyboards and mice sometimes need something called intellipoint (or something like that) to work properly.

Nearly everything you'll ever need to know about microsoft products, software or hardware, will be in the knowledge centre.
