usb issues

well wonder if anyone can help me out

for some reason my usb ports dont seem to be working properlly

if i plug my camera in there ok but if i plug a usb memory stick or a card reader or even a portable hdd it wont work. if i click on computer it dont even show up in there

i got a feeling its actually knackered the portable hdd as that no longer works on m dvd player and i think its done the same to my usb card reader as neither of my micro sd cards work in there now neither do they work on another computer

would really like help on this as im worried about plugging my camera in

yes mate it was even of all night and today but still the same it started last night

It's very strange that it's just memory devices, you could see if there's an update for you Motherboard drivers or try buying a PCI Express card with USB on

if i plug a new usb mem stick in it will work for a second then wont if will not then work on another computer

no they dont

not on any computer

they do before i put them into this computer but once i have put them in here thats it they all stop working

think it may be a psu problem sending, i think the power maybe frying them

if it was a PSU issue id expect issues with all devices to be honest.

are any of your devices in device manager showing with issues?

One other thing to consider is a broken USB socket or faulty cable. Have you tried a different cable or a different USB socket?

I have one USB socket on my PC that I've worn out by using it too much and now behaves as you describe - some things work some don't. Taped over it now.

no other devices are showing with problems

also it is all usb ports, but as i said its only happening with memory devices if i plug a camera ect in there all fine even with there memory card still in
