USB 2 and win xp service pack 3

Has anyone noticed a slow down on usb data transfer since xp service pack 3 launched?

My lappy is USB2 and the controller shows in device manager correctly as an "enhanced" type.

However......I bought a new USB flash drive at the weekend and upon plugging it in for the first time windows kindly told me that it would perform better if i plugged it in to a USB 2.0 port

Transferring 3.5gb of files took almost an hour !!!

Mhmm, know what you mean.

I get that almost all the time. Sometimes I plug it into a USB hub it says Power mass exceeded too.

But hey what can we do, stupid SP3 :thumbsdown:

I had a problem with my machine after SP3 load. I did a system restore to prior the update and everything worked fine.
