Man my heart goes out to you and your's. Thieving scum knew what they were taking.

I know it would take ages but you really need to post the serial numbers now

Really sorry about your loss.

Oh dear, that really is not good news. Hope your insurance sorts it out for you.

I really hope you have insurance ....

It's too late now but I always keep my camera in my bedroom not far from my bed - and always keep house/car keys upstairs.

so sorry to hear about your theft but at least you and your family are ok. Just hope you were insured.

Hope you get it back or get the insurance at least mate.

Gutted for you both. Fingers crossed theyll catch the b******s.

Bleeding thieving scum! I really hope you get your gear back or at least have it insured.

Sorry to hear the bad news there some right scummy people about isn't there  Just hope your insurance sorts it out as thats alot of camera stuff gone.

That is crap, but be thankful that you and yours are ok,well I hope you all are.

Goods can be replaced,people can`t.

Fel for you, had a massive break in myself two years ago from my buisness, wiped me out of £40000 worth of stock, hope they catch them soon.

Kirk

awwww noooo thats dreadful - so sorry for your loss it must have taken ages to build up all your lovelies :(

Dirty theiving *******s. Obviously you are very upset about your gear but my heart goes out to you and yours for the thought of someone in your house whilst you were sleeping.
I hope you get back to normal soon.

Ouch I'd be devastated too -stuff like that goes way beyond monetary value - so sorry to hear about it. I'd be keeping an eye on gumtree as lots of stolen stuff seems to pass through there.

Oh no! I'm sorry sorry to hear about that - makes me so angry that scum-bags think that it's ok to help themselves to the things that you have to work so hard to pay for and love! Grrrrrrr.

I hope everything works out for you insurance-wise, and you get back to normality soon. And glad that you're both ok.

Oh man, i feel for you. From the same neck of the woods as me too :(

Dirty thieving b'stards!

I got broken into last year and thought the Police had no chance of getting them. Then about 8 months later got a call from the coppers and they had the culprit through a DNA hit on a fag end left outside the window that they came in. Amazing result!

I would behead the ****ers if I caught them, afterwhich I would drag their sorry ass to the drive and park my van on them. I am so ****ing angry for you right now :(

Go and finish your studio Gary.........:D

Though I concur with your post, except that you have not mentioned a public flaying.

:shake: thats a hell of a lot of gear, do they even know what they've took.

:bat:

Hi

My sympathies - I know just how you feel -a short time ago my shed was broken into by four misguided teenagers. a neighbour caught one of the four and recovered a lownmower and chainsaw he hapened to be carrying - his partners in crime got away with my generator in my wheely bin along with a shed load of stuff:D

the lad that was aprehended was taken to court and a compensation order was made against him at the begining of july for £650 to date I have received £29.00

I hope you get your goods back

Regards

Mike

Bastids :annoyed:

One glimmer of hope is you've got some relatively high-end gear there, not the sort of stuff that'll turn up in pawnshops and the like too often, so the only outlets are Ebay or sales to specialist dealers......

Here's hoping it all turns up, still in the boot of the car, ideally with a couple of dead scumbags in the front :bat:

Hi
I have just reread your post and noticed that they took your girl friends ST.

That is probably what they came for and your camera gear was just an after thought. If that was the case consider yourselves lucky that you did not wake up - most of these cars are stolen as getaway cars to be used in other crimes, quiet often bank robberies and the like. The yobs that carry out these crimes are very often armed and very dangerous. There has been a spate of these car thefts in the Greater Manchester area in the past few years.

Regards

Mike

Im finding it hard what to say, nothing i could say anyway would make it better.

I need to check my serial numbers, dont have them recorded yet!

I really hope everything works out for you, and the car as well, just gets worse, just hope you can catch the thieving git's.

I hate to say it but .......... as long as you are insured and it is only material then it can be replaced ... :)

We were robed of cam corder's , and i had all my tapes in the bags that got stolen ......... the cams were replaced .... the tapes were gone fore ever ..:(

The worse thing is someone has been in your home ... We thought about moving ... but as i pointed out to my wife ...... We could move to a house that had been broken in to more than ours ... it could be an easy target ..

My heart goes out to you ......... but just put it behind you , contact your insurance and move on .... As long as you are new for old you are sorted ....

Oh and can you add my Canon 5d m2 you were trying ...

Hope you get it all sorted

Rog

I used to deal with lots of people following car insurance claims. I had one lady tell me that the night they were robbed, one of the kids was ill so they both slept downstairs on the sofa. She remembers the kid waking in the night to tell her that there was a man in the room, but she told him he was seeing things and to go back asleep. The robbers took 2 cars, laptops handbags, wallets, anything they could grab easily.

Whilst she was really upset, I pointed out that if she had woken up and investigated the man in the house, it could have been much, much worse..........

The gall of people like this, they deserve everything that has been mentioned on the thread already.

Hope you get your stuff back, and I hope they catch the little *********

thankyou all for your kind comments and thoughts, they have made our house safe for the night at least have to speak with the insurance loss adjusters tomorrow but im worried my insurance wont cover it all.
il update the main thread with serials of some of the main gear sadly as some items were bought at camera fairs bought off fellow togs etc I failed to record the serials on all items and didnt have boxes for others but il record the main stuff.
the D70 IR camera I would imagine is going to surface somewhere as its not your everyday off the shelf item although the other stuff may find itself in pawn shops,e bay or gum tree as mentioned.
thanks again for your well wished thoughts.
Andy & Nicola

So sorry to hear about that - I hope they catch whoever was responsible. The main thing is that you are both safe and well.

:shake: thats a hell of a lot of gear, do they even know what they've took.

:bat:

I'd say they knew exactly what they were doing. Most car thieves break in and just take the car keys, this was a burglary and they obviously knew what they wanted. Would not surprise me if it was someone local!

Hope you get things sorted!

May I suggest the purchase of a big dog, a boxer maybe. Slightest noise outside and my two normal size dogs go mad. They sound very nasty despite being soft and simple :)

Andy & Nicola, how awful for you! Just to echo everyone else's thoughts, hope they catch those responsible and you get things back!.. take care..

Some theiving scrote walked into my house mid afternoon, last aug, kids were in but had gone upstairs.. walked back out with a laptop, mobile and camera.. thankfuly, missed daughters D40 but took a new lumix compact.. never heard a thing since! :shake:

I feel for you...
On a similar but happier note, my Brother's KTM road-bike was stolen recently - chained-up right under a CCTV camera in Vauxhall - he informed the police of this and recieved a 'ho-hum' response...
"Does Sir realise how many motorcycles are stolen in Greater London every day...?"

Until...three weeks later, he saw on the evening news some CCTV footage of a smash-and-grab on a jeweller's shop in London...the rider of the getaway-bike was on his KTM!

Back down to the police station...
Steve: "err remember me? I told you that there was a CCTV camera pointed at my bike when it was stolen - have you reviewed that footage yet?"
Plod: "No..."
Steve: "Well that bike was used in that diamond robbery yesterday - I recognised my bike..."
Plod: "oo...hang on..." calls Flying Squad (oh yes, The Sweeney still deal with armed and aggravated robberies in London).

Not only did the thieves not wear masks when stealing Steve's KTM, but the detectives recognised them as they had 'form'...
Round to their house they go and hey-ho - there's Steve's KTM parked in the back-yard!

The idiots had kept it!!!

All the jewellery was recovered to which Steve is now claiming part of the posted reward and he got his bike back with only minor cosmetic damage (new lock, fuel cap, couple of scratches etc all covered under the insurance policy).

The point being: don't just rely on the Police - do your own digging - the car will be easier to trace and may lead to the recovery of the camera kit...

With any luck, the car may come to attention soon - even if it's on cloned plates by now. As for the camera gear, being realistic, it has most likely been sold on by now - though it's worth keeping an eye on local press / eBay / Gumtree and suchlike places. Many of our local criminals are stupid enough to post stuff online straight after they've stolen it. In this particular case, the best leads are going to be forensics and any local CCTV if you live in a town. If the car is recovered, there will be a whole lot more opportunities.

I wish you luck with recovering your stuff. Burglary is a horrible crime, and one that I really wish the courts would take more seriously.
