hello everyone!! i went to a football game a couple days ago and while shooting with my nikon D80 i started to notice that there was a blue/greenish shadow on most of my images. i tried adjusting the white balance on lightroom but didnt help much. any solution to this problem.

Sorry, I can't help you, but what is the story with the mosaic effect in all the blue areas?
 
That's odd, it's almost as though you're applying a blue grad. No idea what causes it
 
Looks serious, you could try a hard reset, batteries out for an hour or two.
 
Very strange, if you're not using any filters etc...

Have you tried (long shot) another card, just to make sure it's not a corrupted card ?

Otherwise, if the hard reset didn't help, looks like it may need a trip to the repair centre...
 
How do I do the hard reset? please tell me my camera is not useless because of this problem :/ any more information needed to solve this problem??
 
I'm not a Nikon guy, but I would think you have one or more "reset" options within the menu system. For Canon there is a general camera reset, another for any custom functions and another for AF microadjustment changes. Once you've reset the camera through the menus, if that still doesn't fix things then take out the main battery and, wherever it may be, the smaller battery which maintains date and time when the main battery is removed.

Alternatively try a single or double battery removal first and if that doesn't work then try various levels of reset through the menus. It's kind of like cold booting a PC that's playing up.

You might also check to see if there is any new firmware available for the camera.
 
I have tried with 3 different cards, a regular reset and now the one mentioned above. Nothing happens. My last option is trying to find new firmware.
 
Assuming it was fine before then I can't see it is a firmware issue. With the various resets you have done to no avail it would suggest the camera has a physical fault or some kind. When did it last work properly?
 
I wasn't suggesting it was a firmware issue, but anything to try to give it a good kick up the bum and a "refresh" can't do any harm. Who knows, maybe it got a static zap and some electrons have gone a bit wobbly inside.

Let's face it, based on the symptoms shown I think anything is a bit of a straw clutch at the moment.
 
It looks like something corrupted somewhere. Do they look the same on the camera? and are you shooting raw or jpeg? if it's raw how are you converting.
 
What may help diagnose it is thinking about what has changed since it last worked properly.
 
Believe it or not it happened literally from one shot to another. Maybe 2 hours in between. At first I thought something was wrong with my screen,But when I tried to look at the pictures in lightroom I was convinced that it has nothing to do with the screen.
 
Not trying to spread gloom, but would appear something has gone pop (technical electrical term :))
